Elegance, so infrequent in your world
Elegance, so infrequent in your
world. When love becomes the heart that
grows into who you are, you enter the world of elegance. Subtle, fine, gossamer. One immense and gentle meditation of
God. So elegant.

Feel the softness, the warmth of our hearts
Feel the softness, the warmth of
our hearts, the very deep welcome, and rest in that. Stay here.
And if you must go, bring this back with you:
You are never devoid of such
comfort and companionship. It is cold in
your world, not because of a season, but because of an illness, a disease that
is rampant on your world called fear. We
knowingly direct you towards self-acceptance and truly understanding and
feeling the love that you are.
This is a love so vast, so great,
so deep and belighted that only the human mind could avoid it. That is why we touch your hearts, and when we
do, we suggest: here lives the truth, this is the fire by which you live and
warm yourselves. This is where we have
found our home and this is where we know your journey is bringing you.

I made a conscious choice
I made a conscious choice, a great
decision. It was to live my truth, not
partially, but totally and completely.
Is not there some aspect of your life significant and loving enough that
you can live it all of the time, in every breath?
Everything else in your life and times takes its place where it belongs when you precede life with your passions. Climb out of the darkness, take my hand and show me what best you do.

When does a soul tire
When does a
soul tire of walking a path where the drudgery of fear and worry keeps sticking
to the hem of its robe? How is one to
face God so disheveled, so dirty? And
yet, most of you insist on doing it every day!
Forgive me as I do not judge your spiritual hygiene, but there is a
simpler and cleaner way, and that is called laughter.
Do not take life so seriously. No one can take your power unless you hand it over. If you wish to play a victim, you will never stand upon my stage. Victims are souls that snore. They are so deep in their own sad illusion that they sleep.
My beloveds, you are all alive and vibrant. You are more than magnificent expressions of a love unimaginable, unconditional and eternal. You cannot be stopped. You cannot be defeated. You cannot lose if you know the truth, that you came here for fun.
One day you will know my words speak true, but you need not sleep the long sleep to find that out.

I would like to show you a book
I would
like to show you a book, if you would allow yourself a moment or two to witness
it. It is complete; it is perfect in every
way. It is a rather simple depiction of
love, the culmination of focused commitment, work and self-expression. Why do I speak of such a thing? Every life is a book. Every chapter is a culmination of experience
and a bringing forward of change. There
is no role model or yardstick by which to measure the evolving soul. We grow because we cannot do anything but.
It is time to awaken that God part that lives within you. And upon awakening many things will change; the world will shift and your perception of life will follow and nothing will ever be the same because you will not see it as such.
So, beloveds, again I say, the past deserves to be where it is. It is the great lament, the great deterrent to a joyous today. Do not be fooled into thinking you can change that which is no more. You can change how you feel about it now, and that is sufficient. That is all you need do.

If we have
a plan, it sings of simplicity. Love
yourself and eventually you will learn to love others. It is the way. Because the true self is the highest, purest,
clearest form of love, does it not make sense to start there?
Forgive your mistakes. These things are simple. You need not complicate life. Stay in your heart and God will stay in your life.

When work becomes play, then you know you are alive
When work
becomes play, then you know you are alive.
Oh, they could not stand me; I had too much fun! And yet, it is available to one and all. It is a very simple equation:
If we give up the fear mind that clutches until its nails bleed from grabbing, if we determinately extricate those hands and speak gently and softly with strength and the power of love, the crop of fear lies dead in the field.
These are the times to become the compassionate farmer, if you will. You must not allow your small mind to bully you, but you must not bully your small mind because it does not comprehend. It is limited in the glory of your truth; you are not.
So give thanks to God for the opportunity to do that which you love, that which you do. Gratitude, simple, eternal; stay there.

Right now can be the epiphany or the soul realization you long for
Right now can be the epiphany or the soul realization you
long for. Gather up your materialism,
your needs and wants and desires, do what you must, but know that real life,
living a true life is living a life in God.
And yes, how can one believe what one does not see? Because one must know. How can one know? Because one is born of that truth. What is truth? It is, when everything else is taken away,
what remains. It is light; it is the
trillion stars in the heavens. It is the
mind that created those stars and the heavens and you, and me.
Know this: we are not separate. We have never been and never will be. The amnesia is passing swiftly. If you do not yet glimpse, you shall. What is real, what is true, is not what the
world would have you think. What is love
is, after you have suffered all the pain from resistance, what you choose
because there is nothing left to choose.
But that in itself is a choice; is it not?
I applaud each and every one of you; you must not ever
surrender. You are above untruth. You move with the thought of God, and God
calls you home, to the home within you.
That is being successful. That is
finding bliss. That is becoming
Buddha. That is the Christ
resurrection. It is simply deciding that
within eventually becomes without.
As you love yourselves through, as you care enough to
care. You will begin to understand that
THE WAY is and always has been the only way, and that is to love. Your world is starved for it, your
fragileness screams for it. Your soul
attempts to provide it but you are caught in the cycle of self-flagellation and
judgment and criticism.
But think, it does not work; no matter what the world or
society puts upon you, it does not work unless it promotes love. Will you not join me in calling it a
lie? Be the bravest of the brave and
forge your life through the darkness because, truthfully, this entire journey
is but an illusion. And when you, to
your true home return, this journey will be the dream rather than the
reality.
With deep love,

We, most of us, want recognition
We, most of us, want recognition. We want other souls to witness our light, to
know of our kindness, to pay homage to our creations, and sadly perhaps, is the
world built upon such a foundation. But
if it is accolades you seek, then none will speak of you higher nor more loving
than God, and all we must do is listen.
If you can do what you do, you can hear God. It is for almost everyone the most difficult task in the world, to hand it all to the beloved most high. But if you seek truth, then you must go to the place where God will meet you, which is your welcome and your insistence.
I did not cease composing poetry because none would read it, and fewer still would understand it. I did what I did because I loved doing it. Every time it brought me back to Shams. It is no different with any art form. It will always bring you back, always and in all ways to God.
If you could see how great a fan, how great and noble a listener, how attentive, how riveted is God, you would not care who in the world would read or not read, would praise or not praise, would admire or not admire, it doesn’t matter.
So do not be fooled by the shortness of vision and sight. You may have to squint a little bit, but that is God in there. And if you listen really closely, you might hear her say something like: “Well, look what we did this time!”

The greatest suffering comes from the small mind
The greatest suffering comes from the small mind. The greatest peace comes from the nothing that
simplicity affords. Every idea is
capable. All condescension is
incapable.
Release must initiate from the heart; surrender, always from the mind. Let go. It is not a rope that your fingers tear at; it is simply a dream that has run its course. It is time that you stand and leave the theater and walk away into the sun, into the life-beloved. And bring all of your dreams that, like some great story house, will become your world, your home, your house.

It takes no strength to stand against the many, when one is
God self-realized. It takes the strength
of a God to face the world when one is unsure.
Look at your lives—all of them—and forget them. They were very nice at one time. But even time is an illusion. And the only illusion worthwhile is the
truth. And the truth is love. And what does that make you?

If your
attention is diverted toward lack, limitation and need, follow me. I will show you the golden sun, I will

is nirvana; your passion is the key.
Do you hear me, beloveds? Let none judge you, accept no judgment. You must not live in the muck of the river any longer. You must swim to the light. Do not think that what the world of society takes as real is real.
What you love, what brings you joy, the fire of your passion is real, because it is God. And God is the only reality. You can quote me if you like.

You can bring the light of God into your earthly moments
You can
bring the light of God into your earthly moments. You can open your eyes and see. In a real sense are you trapped by the
physical body. But it is the Godly-adept
that strives and eventually overcomes such a challenge.
There will
be much rebellion from the lower self.
There will be the pungent and thick and sloth-moving mistakes and
judgments and shame and lessons of the past that are dumped into your present
moment. This is the way it is done. However, one need not wallow in such a sticky
mess if one is forthright, committed, focused and courageous in their pursuit
of bringing forward their true body of light.
For every
step forward soul takes, the ego mind would march you back a dozen score. It is the way of fear, but this is
changing. Remember that the heart rising
into the sea of God attempts to pull the body-mind with it, and the body-mind
is incapable of instantaneously achieving those spiritually lofty heights. So we experience fatigue but we never give
up. So you see, every victory, if you
will, has its cost. You will be used to
this in time, and believe it or not, it will not affect you the same way.
Raising the
octave of the physical does not occur overnight, so do not be hard on
yourselves. So remember the mountain
top, remember what it feels like to stand atop that sea and remember that you
live, breathe, move and have your being in something much lighter and
freedom-filled and limit-less than the body.

It brings
God immeasurable joy that to create in the world, but you must consciously go
first. Master, be with me, do this with
me, stand by my side. Master, stand
within me; that is the way, the loving way, that is the Christian way, that is
the Buddhist way, that is the Muslim way.
They are all the same; they are just some great tapestry that is
over-embroidered.
We must be true to our truth. I showed God my love with every word I wrote. Love God with what you do best and then discover that best is unlimited; many new directions, many new perceptions, many different avenues, many ways to see and feel.
I did not see life so much as a poem as I saw it the opportunity to become a living, breathing God. I know that it is your silhouettes walking along the same path.

You have twirled into a wall; what of it?
You have
twirled into a wall; what of it? Twirl
some more, left, right, up, down.
Perspective, my beloveds, that is the key. A different perspective is what I attempted
to teach. It is not difficult; it is so
simple it is overlooked.
I have hit
a wall; there must be a different direction.
I feel loneliness, I feel empty, I feel despondent. Who has not said such a thing in their tenure
here on this green Earth? These are
samples, in the purest sense, of life.
The beginning of the end; the end of the beginning: phases. The passing of one consciousness into a more
exalted consciousness. There is so much
we can do when we take off the blinders.
To you who
bump into the dervishes that are your teachers, who run into such a wall, I
say: What is wall spelled backwards?
Law.
The law is
that we cannot go beyond before we go through and understand what we have, so
that we do not keep repeating such mundane lessons. It does not feel good, but it is wonderful to
jump from one precipice to the next. It
is all good and everything will be alright.

Why do we as a people ostracize joy?
Why do we
as a people ostracize joy? Why do we reject
the overt, infinite, comforting love that is and emanates from the one? Who stood before me, who stands within me as
within thee?
Before I came to the base of the mount, before I laid my hand on your back, offered you comfort and friendship, before the oceans turned blue, before the stars whispered of hope, there was one that was in my place. Who was this one?
You shall not cast your jewels into the abyss. And you shall not give your gifts to the darkness. You stand now with me and with those greater still. Can you, my children, feel the many hands upon your back?

Life is either too dry, too wet, too fast or too boring
Life is either
too dry, too wet, too fast or too boring.
How often does a soul feel the contentment every moment provides, or better put, is capable of? We may as
well ride into the sunset seeking for some magical mystical answer that will
turn our life around.
What brings forward the fruit and bread of life is the recognition of every moment and what we do, how we think and perform and acquit ourselves therein. It is a journey that begins and meanders towards many mountains, and so few believe themselves capable of scaling such a peak, yet nothing could be further from the truth.
The world of illusion is woven together with the thread of limitation. It is not that it is so strong—limitation, that is. It is just the acceptance that is strong. Where would we be, the race of humanity, without the handful of brave souls that forded the river and crossed the ocean of limitation? I believe we would be where most everyone is, lost, clinging and rife with blame and irresponsibility.
So where does that leave us, my beloveds? It leaves us with the eyeglass that focuses within and brings into clarity and understanding the concept that is the Christ, the soul, the still, small voice. The world will provide you no respite when you become the spelunker of your own inner world, you know this. Your small mind will kick and scream and convince you of weakness and indecision.
Shams used to say to me, “Life and its tribulation, in all of its drama is not so big as you would have it be.” And that is where the big picture comes in. What is your big picture? Is it your career? Is it wealth? Or is it God? God, come into my life in every breath, every thought, every action. I used to say that, I still do. Why don’t you try it?

If I were to say to you, let go, what would that mean?
If I were
to say to you, let go, what would that mean?
Let it all go; fall where it may.
Could you do that?
-Depends on what you’re talking about, Shams.
Does it really? Do not you think that God knows where things are to fall perhaps a bit better than you do? I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but God created the earth, and you walk upon it. Perhaps that is not fair, but you get the point.
What I’m saying here: the great depth, width, breadth of the inner mind, the heart mind knows what “we” do not. “We,” being the small mind, the need to be someone, something, some definition of success or victim.
Everyone here, where I am with Rumi, beloved Jesus, the Masters, we all learned how to let go. We all made a choice. Attachment, as the great Buddha says, is the weight of the world. Release is the abolition of resistance. So where, my darlings, does your resistance lie? Worry? Fear? Where? We must recognize this resistance before we send it from whence it came, that way we have learned.
-Oh Shams, you are so obscure. What are you saying?
I’m saying that there is no penalty in doing what you love and staying there. We are not created as a swing unless we choose somebody’s ass to sit upon us, as many of us do.
Observe your limitations, beloveds. When life seems too small, create it bigger. When all would close in on you, rise up, become 10 feet tall. There is nothing in this world that can scare you unless you choose to be scared. There is too much goodness to do.
