When we speak of healing, we heal nothing

When we speak of healing, we heal nothing.  What we do is extract the thought, the permission, the seed of a lie, an impurity, an aberration.  To heal is to fill oneself with the purifying light of God, which is love.  It is also an act of awakening, a bringing forth of the soul, which is the seed of God within each body on earth.

Extraction of the electrical current that feeds a seed-cause is successful only with the food of love.  Love will still the condition.  Love will calm, love will remove the electrical charge of fear.  The small mind understand love not.  The heart mind is of love.  Healing, therefore, comes from a place few have explored, a place few are familiar with.

Delving into the heart mind evokes, brings forth and reminds us of our responsibilities.  The heart mind does not rest nor sleep in the past.  It is concerned with what every present moment brings it.  It says: I cannot wait to discover a way to love my way through this one!  In such a case, the small ego mind would raise ramparts of resistance and castles of denial, surrounded by moats of blame.  It is a rascal.

We are so concerned with how to do that often we forget that we do not understand everything here that is on Earth.  That is why God does not for us but with us.  We do our part as best as we know how and to the best of our abilities.  God does hers when we hand it over feeling joyful about our letting go.  We are about letting more God into our lives as our lives are becoming more of God.

We cannot deny the fear away

We cannot deny the fear away.  To exist in a world of fallacies we must not become one ourself.  Is the past, the fear of such a thing, of such memories, of the pain so great?  Yes, we must feel and we must conquer.

We must emerge victorious through love, through diligence.  We might bend but never shall we break.  We might experience night upon dark night where we are the only fire, or so we think.  There are hyenas circling.  It is why this plane, what you would call reality is not so very high.

When you stand in the light that is your unconquerable soul, when you stand as beloved God, you no longer suffer this plane.  It matters not what your karmic responsibilities may be.  God calls home his/her beloved children when they have opened the door and refused to close it.

Can your past that sleeps with the dead wreak such havoc in the opportunity that is every present moment?  Is it that strong?  It is not and shall never be.  And you will rise into the glory that we have risen.

Do not, do not give up.  Do not fall victim to the cloak of illusion.  It will blind you, it will seduce you, it will bring you to your knees.  And my beloveds, my arms grow strong from lifting you.

When we get down to the nitty-gritty of life

When we get down to the nitty-gritty of life and we go into those places that harbor an emptiness, a dark tide of loneliness and perhaps some good old-fashioned fear, it weighs heavily upon our breast.  Sometimes it takes the form of illness.  When we hit home sometimes it is like we remember, sometimes it is not.  And most times there is no home to hit, only a jaundiced memory that is like an infection.
My little one, for what do you long?  Where is this path called life leading you?  Why does the small mind wish to rob you of that which you are?  Plenty of questions, yes?
When we dig deep enough and the spade becomes well worn, we oftentimes hit a dampness, it becomes more difficult to throw the soil of the past over our back.  It is heavy.  What do you throw over your back, precious one?  What threshold have you come upon?

Oh this puzzle called life!  Shams, why don’t you come right out and tell me!  You would hate me if I did that.  Besides, what if I was wrong?  But I am never wrong and Rumi would be the first to tell you that.

When we get down to our core pictures, when we have moved earth and sand and muddied waters, when we have found the stone that stands before the cave, where do we find the strength to move such a stone?  In worry?  In fear?  In hope?  I think you know.

Go into that place if you wish, not with trepidation but with the torch of the sun in your hand, with me and Rumi, with the Beloved.  And perhaps you will look and say something like, “Oh, it’s you.  Are you still here?”  And then you will take the hand of that lost and lonely piece of your humanness and bring it into the garden.

There are two worlds

There are two worlds.  There is the world of the ego small mind that forever attempts to convince us of its greatness, its infallibility, its heroism and strength.  And there is the world of the quiet mind of the heart.

Imprisoned by the small mind, I could not enter the heart mind and become the light of the sun.  Shams taught me, showed me, lead me into the sun.  Shams evoked within me the memory, the truth, and so did I shift my attention, my entire life, move the house of my world into my heart mind.

Oh Rumi, that is such a big thing to do!  How does one accomplish such a feat?

Find Shams.  Allow Shams to find you, your own Shams.  Allow yourselves the rite of passage.  Write your own ticket into the celestial sun.  On more than one occasion Shams said to me: Spin and let the world fly from your life.  Spin and become the center.  Spin and lose all but your true self.  Spin and meet me in the light.

Well, precious ones, I toiled and I chose a different path, and that was the written word, as well you know.  You must seek that blessing unique that is your own personal dance of joy, and I speak of expressing God to the world.  In what do you become lost where the minutes, perhaps the hours are forgotten?  Where do we once again enter the womb and feel safe in the embrace of God within us and God without us?  It is such a uniquely personal experience, this concept called God.  There is a simple explanation for God, and it is so simple as the warmth upon your face.

If we go around feeling bad in our lives

If we go around feeling bad in our lives, what room is there to live in joy, happiness, prosperity?  How can we constantly pull ourselves up from the mire to reach our creative essence?  Why should we even do such a thing?  Because you do not grow from the ground, you grow from the sun.

There are much more constructive things to do than burden yourself with the weight of the world, of what is not, of what may or may not yet be.  Remain in the warmth of the sun with me.  I will show you a different way.

Are you free to follow your heart’s mind?

Are you free to follow your heart’s mind?  Are you enamored of, and devoted enough to follow God’s?  What is it you truly wish to accomplish?  These questions may sound rhetorical but they are not.  Every soul does indeed have a purpose, a game plan, if you will.  Every soul must pass through the dark of night and make it to the rising dawn.
What will you resurrect?  Why not begin with love.  What is love?  Good question.  Why is it so precious yet so plentiful, so ignored yet so necessary?  We must all come to this sea at one time or another.  Do we swim in it?  Do we walk atop it?  Do we create something to float over it?  Do we walk around it?  Do we seek a safer place?
Your inner nature that comes forward into your world is bringing you deeper and further away from that past we might call land.  So here you are, boat-less, atop a sea you yearn to experience, share and understand.  Oh, Shams I’m so afraid of sinking!

Do not fear sinking.  Remember that surrender invites the heart mind to think, to express, to create and to seek itself. That is why it is a good idea to attempt to define love in terms that strike the inner cord, the familiar music within each of you.

There is a way to God if that is what you are seeking

There is a way to God if that is what you are seeking, and that is very simple: it is to joy.  Joy.  I don’t know that it is in your dictionary anymore.  Joy.  But with you it is in your heart.  It is something you cannot disavow because you come from joy and so do I.

You must discover and ascertain in your life what it is that makes you happy.  Do not work yourself to death, nor worry yourself to ill health.  Just try to love yourself.

I waited 62 years to find love in the eyes of soul wearing a human body.  Not a long time, really.  But I knew then that everything of which I had preached could be embodied in one expression of God the Almighty, and that was Rumi, and it still is.

So for all of you, go and find your listener, find your Rumi.  But the way to find your Rumi is to be as succinct, as strong, as noble, as wild and as crazy as you can.  Let yourself be you and stop being somebody else.  God wants you to be you, which is why you are the you that you are.  And if you don’t know who you are, this is a good time to discover just that.
With much love,
Shams

You must build the fortress

You must build the fortress, a place of strength where your power is not shared nor given away.  A temple of sanctity; a bit of life unmolested by the needy and the needs of Earth, of all of its inhabitants.

Venture forth but make a strong home.  Go into the world but keep your eyes wide.  Live, but do not be seduced by the trappings that others would have you believe are precious.

I await your ultimate victory.
